Camp is for the Birds

For the past several years at SET Camp, we have had the privilege of hosting one of our favorite evenings of the whole summer, a visit from the Delaware Valley Raptor Center.

For one night only, our Dining Hall plays host to a selection of the most impressive birds of prey our region has to offer. The only thing more impressive than the birds themselves is the fantastic presentation that comes with them. It's always both informative and captivating, and the question and answer session that follows always shows off how inquisitive our SET Campers are.

Special thanks to Jan at the Delaware Valley Raptor Center, you can visit their website here to learn more about the great work they do.

Don't worry Kaytee McKee, it's not Mortimer, it's another Sah-Whet Owl. Mortimer would never come to camp without you.

I TOLD you we had a Bald Eagle here!
Then, we had a couple turkeys show up on their own the next day. Apparently, they were offended that they weren't invited to the Bird of Prey presentation. We had to break it to them that turkeys were not birds of prey.

Nope, no matter how much time you stand guard on the waterfront bridge, you're still not a bird of prey. Or a raptor.

You're just a turkey.
