Session III: Epilogue (And a Final Touch of Chaos)

So even though Dr. Husqavarna's machine supposedly rid the Camp of Chaos, there was still just the littlest bit left over. Our dance was moved from it's standard spot inside the Rec Hall to a new, outside venue right in front of the Dining Hall. (Due to pre-planned Chaos! Certainly not due to a squirrel chewing it's way through the Rec Hall speakers. Not due to that.)

An outside, under the stars dance party.

More Chaos than the Flagstones have seen in a while.

New best friends, who all just met this week.

Everyone loves an outside dance party.

Especially these two.

This is my friend Alex. Every summer, we take a picture. Now I can cross this off my 2015 to-do list.

Both of these people are named Julia Langone. Statistically, there are only two people named Julia Langone in the country. And they are both here at Camp. In this picture.

I'm gonna guess this is one of those "hands-up" songs.

So the cool part about the Camp Dance is...

That it can only happen on Friday Night.

Cause Friday night is the last night of the Camping session.

And the Camp dance is more than people just....

Loudly singing...

Jumping and dancing ludicrously...

With whatever energy they still have remaining from the long week.

It's a celebration of all that's happened, all the friendships they've made and good memories they now share, a celebration...

Of the whole Camp week and the fact that...

The Campers here all started as strangers, or acquaintances , or friends from last year...

And have now formed one unique group, that's never existed before, and will never exist again.

They are the Campers of Session 3 2015.

And that's who they all are, for one more evening, as they dance the night away.

When they return next year (or next week), it'll be a different group, a different camp family.

But for this night, and this night only , it's the Campers of Session 3 2015 getting revel in the week they've had...

And put off saying good-bye until tomorrow.

Yeah. All of THAT is what the Camp Dance is.
And on top of all that, this one was outside. Pure Chaos.

NEXT TIME: Summer's Half-Over! Or Half-Still-Left To Go. Depending on your state of mind.
