Session VI: A Night and a Day and a Night at Camp

So after a solid season of blogging about Summer Camp, I'm beginning to lose sense of a consistent narrative. (Hence the caption "Lunch is nice" about 35 times in the last post.)

Worry not! This is simply the effect of so much Summer Camp on the adult mind. It's natural for this point in the season.

However for this post the most I can muster is...here are some pictures of things that happen here.

Tuesday Night!

Cabin Choice Night.

Cabin #9 hung out in the craft shop.

Cabin 8...

Did some tye-dye.

Cabin #3 had a card night!

Cabin #6...did this.

Off to find more cabins.

What is this Cabin #4?

Oh. Of course.

This is Qudditch.

Where there's smoke...

There's fire.

And where there's fire...

There's smores.

A Camp necessity.

Some juice to wash those s'more down?

Juice for all...at snack time.

Snack Time: It's No Lunch, but It's Pretty Good Too.TM

And Cabin #8 follows it up with some late night fireside yoga.

Whoa. It's morning.

That happened quick.

Is Cabin #8 still doing yoga? No. Nevermind. That's Golden Eagle Yoga. That's morning yoga.

A misty Lake Shawanni.

Perfect for jumping right into.

A serene morning at Camp.

With coffee to ensure functionality.

Yup. Early Morning at Camp.

Mornings over! You can tell by the Battle for the Island face paint.

And mis-match lunch attire.

Mis Match Lunch:

Empty out the suitcase.

And dress how you feel.

However that might be.

But smiles...

Match any wardrobe.
Confirmed?

Confirmed.

Who goes in first? The Red Deer with their antlers or the Black Bears with their claws?

And the antlers have it.

On to third period classes at the lake!

A picture-esque day for some kayaking.

Or canoeing.

Or Lifeguard 101-ing.

Brand-new to the class schedule for 2015, our older campers are learning some basic waterfront safety techniques.

A serious class...

But more fun than you'd expect, too.

If you ever have a free afternoon, I can highly recommend spending it on the waterfront.

However, if you have a free EVENING, you should certainly attend our Bowl-BBQ. Dinner in the bowl, and then lawn games galore.

Well-Shots!

Did the frisbee make it in the well? Almost never. But it is sure is fun to try.

Right on target.

Home-made ski ball.

Yes. Believe it or not, that's cricket.

We pretty much made this one up.

Hang the Hula Hoop on the Person?

Bocce Ball!

Disc Golf putting practice.

Even some leisurely swim time.

Song Singing!

Considered a sport here at Camp.

A sport everyone can enjoy.

The options are plentiful.

The remaining day light, however...

Is not.
In mid-august.

However, when the day light fades...

Is when the wish boats are launches.

Another end of summer tradition.

Its our silent fire work show on Lake Shawanni.

As each Camper sends out a wooden boat with candle on it...

And we all quietly sit...

And watch the whole darkened night lake light up.

Just as much of a tradition, are the posting of blurry pictures of our Wish Boats...

Which don't begin to sum up what a awe-inspiring sight it really is.

If I had room for about 25,000 more photos, I could get close to almost summing up a full day here. But, honestly, even then I'd still be way, way off.
