Session VI: Lunch

Well, we're here. We've done it. It's happened. Check the calendar.

We've made it to the last session of the 2015 summer season.

As we enjoy our final week here at Summer Camp for the year, we wanted to give you a quick peek into a special part of the day. Y'see, on this blog we've focused on a lot of the crazy/unique/extraordinary things that happen at Camp, but we've skipped over some other stuff. There are some other things that happen here, things that are a bit more normal, a bit more mundane, a bit more ordinary that occur every single day...but they're pretty great too. One of those things is called...lunch.

Lunch.

It occupies 45 wonderful minutes of every campers day, every day.

It's lunch.

And it's delightful.

And this is what it looks like.

Welcome to the dining hall. Where lunch occurs.

Meet lunch.

See this very pleased, contented face? Standard at lunch.

A more enthusiastic version of the "lunch face."

Lunch can even be enjoyed in a group!

A trip to one of our MANY salad bars.

Well, one of our two salad bars. To be accurate.
But there are two of them. And they are filled with things like...vegetables. Tasty, tasty vegetables.
You can make a salad with them! If you so choose.

Chicken Patty Lunch.

A great lunch.

Everyone likes lunch.

These guys like lunch.

These ladies like lunch!

Try as we might, we couldn't find anyone who didn't like lunch.

Even simply as a concept, lunch is a terrific idea.

Lunch:" Hey! Wanna take a break from running around all morning, sit down for a bit, fill up on chicken sandwiches, salad, and fries and then run around again all afternoon?"
US: "Why, yes, Lunch."

"Yes, we do."

And then we clean up AFTER lunch.

Cause Camp is all our of our home.

And we all take care of it.
That's how we do around these parts.

Especially our Junior Counselors helping in the kitchen.

Did I say lunch was "normal"?

My bad. This is still Camp. Nothing is "normal."

Yay! Yay! For whatever that was.

Okay. Enough of that. Time to leave lunch.

Thanks, lunch. It was a great 45 minutes.

But.

We've got more Summer Camp to get to.

NEXT TIME: More Summer Camp to get to.
