Session IV: Good Ol' Fashion Good Ol' Country Fair

How did we send off Ol' West Week? Why, with a County Fair of course. How else would we do it? (Well, sure. I suppose there are other ways. But we chose a County Country Fair, and we're sticking by it.)

There were booths galore!

Booths with recycled plastic flowers.

Booths like "Blind...

Water Balloon...

Pinata."

Oh yeah!

Oh no!

Booths like...

"Popsicle Square Dancing."

It appears Jasper is a wanted man.

I wonder what they'll do when they catch him?

Oh. They'll do that. Classic Camp crime and punishment.

But that's not all! We had pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey-on-the-tree.

We had face painting.

We had throw-the-ping-pong-ball-in-the-bowl-and-win-a...

-Fish.
Enough fish for everyone.

We had lasso the floating cow!

And the floating cow always ended up in the lake.

Mmmm. A delicious  pretzel just hovering in mid-air. Why not take a bite?
Watch out! It's a trap!

A trap everyone is falling for.

And of course, what would a country fair be without a hay ride?

Been face paintin'. Been Popsicle dancin'. Time for hay ridin'.

All aboard!

And off we go.

Off on an Ol' West Camp adventure.

Even led by a legit country tractor and a legit Camp facilities worker.

I told you we might have horses.

On to our Frisbee Shooting Range!

Run by our own extravagantly whiskered cowhand, H.P. Hushpuppy.

As the campers learned so well, "The H. stands for Hush and the P. stands for Puppy. His name is Hush Puppy Hushpuppy."

We also had this booth! The Ol' West was a trying time to be a counselor.

Uh-oh. Our bandit sheriff guards the bridge...

...that leads to the California train.

To be completely historically accurate, we made sure our train was just a piece of rope the campers held while making locomotive noises. Just like they really did in the ol' West.

The signs says it all. We're gonna be rich.

Don't look so skeptical! Rich! Rich, I tell ya!

First we toil in the gold-rich lake.

And then weigh the wealth of our claim.

But we didn't just have booths!

We also had happy campers!

Smiling campers!

Laughing campers!
REALLY laughing campers!

Photogenic campers!

Campers pleased with the Country Fair!
And campers just pleased in general!

All added up, it makes a nice afternoon at the end of another nice week of Summer Camp.

Up NEXT: The official Staff Photo. AND! It's Session 5. And it's August. And where has summer gone!?
