Summer 2018: End of Season

A 4-H Camp summer season is a slow/fast blur that happens lightening fast, in an instant, and simultaneously takes and lasts forever.  And then, all of the sudden, a moment comes in that long series of a million Summer Camp moments that is the last moment, and the summer season is over.

That's the moment that has arrived right now

As you can see from perusing the 4-H Camp journal entries on this very blog over the past two months, the Summer of 2018 was another exciting, camp-magical entry into the L.G. Cook canon, and we're happy to have it stand alongside the other 67 summer seasons we've put together through the years here in Stokes Forest.

And of course,

A summer here is defined...

By the people here...

So I'd like to use this space...

In the last official blogpost of Summer '18...

To thank the Staff of 2018...

For giving their all...

Creating what they did...

And making our summer...

What it was.

And yes, if Saturday afternoons at Summer Camp are for napping then ends-of-August at Summer Camp are for HIBERNATING, so our staff, our Camp Office, and this blog are going to go to sleep for a little bit.

HOWEVER, as one of our favorite camp songs states: "Come September I will remember my camping days and friendships true."

So in September we'll be back with more photos, highlights and tall-tales from the Summer of 2018.

And!

If visiting us digitally for a little extra summer in the autumn isn't enough,  you should join us in PERSON for our Fall Family Hike Day.

Sign up here and now!

So!

We'll look forward to seeing you in September, and as always...we'll see you next summer!
