Happy Fall! Here's a Treat!

So, admittedly, we pretty much consider it fall here at Camp the day Summer Camp is over on August 20th. 

And, we DEFINITELY consider it fall (we pretty much have to) in mid-September for Fall Family Hike Day. 

But now, that to us and the rest of the country, it's officially fall, we wanted to wish you some crisp seasonal happiness with this little surprise:

Everyone's FAVORITE LAKE is featured on the cover of NJ Monthly Magazine!

Yes indeed, believe your eyes, that's a lovely aerial photo (from a previous fall) of our very own Lake Shawanni. We certainly agree with NJ Monthly - what better example of the natural beauty of the Garden State than the 108 acres we've got right here at 4-H Camp. Special thanks to the friend-of-Camp with a sharp eye who spotted us on the cover and sent it my way last night.

It was the scene in which many campers...

With our "Groundhog Gardening" Early-Morning Activity.

Beautify...

And exit of Camp...

As well as...

A great sight to see...

On our daily stroll...

Vespers Island. 

It was our laboratory...

In which our campers...

Hands-on...

About seeds...

Soil...

Sunshine...

Water...

And how these elements...

Combined with some...

Time...

Care...

And attention...

Can make some...

Pretty amazing things...

Grow.

Just a laboratory...

But a source of food...

Fresh...

(Just about as fresh as you can get...)

Vegetables...

Herbs...

And more...

For our kitchen...

Salad bar...

And for our...

General snacking enjoyment. 

And the BEST thing...

Our Canoe-nity Garden was...

Was just the beginning!

Because we look forward in future seasons to adding...

Even more plants,

Even more classes, 

(Even more boats!)

And even more ways for our Canoe-nity Garden...

To bring our campers...

Just a little bit closer to nature.

(An in fact, we're not even just waiting for future seasons to add to our garden:) 

Our dear friend Lakeside Louie has been working on some finishing fence touches...

And just yesterday put on our new gates!
