Yes, registration for Summer '24 at 4-H Camp opens in just one month!
As you mull your summer schedule and block out your 4-H Camp weeks, we're pleased to announce the selection of our favorite camp themes that will make up the 2024 Summer Season.
Turns out Mid-October is a fine time to be dreaming about next summer!
Session 1: Area '51
Summer 2024 starts with a sci-fi spectacular! We’ll open our division of interstellar hijinks investigation, Area ‘51 (cause Camp was founded in 1951, of course) to deal with some wacky extraterrestrials, fascinating aliens, brave interstellar explorers, and whatever else it is that may be out there. At 4-H Camp, when you stare up at a mid-July crystal clear night sky, though our feet may be firmly planted on the shores of Lake Shawanni, you get quite a view of the stars.
Session 2: Spy Week
A session full of exciting intrigue, code words, hidden plans, and surprising twists and turns! Classified information is up for grabs and counselor double agents will need to be discovered, all while there will be mysteries to be solved and top secret missions to be both foiled and accomplished. The Camp Spirit test just might need to be hauled out again to determine who at camp is friend and who is foe. (Disclaimer: we all wind up being friends.)
Session 3: CHAOS!
CHAOS returns to 4-H Camp! Yes, our camper-favorite prank-fest session is back. As much as we’ll try to keep things calm and orderly with our Wednesday Night “PrankBusters” activity, chances are that nothing can seem to curtail the unpredictable zaniness…until near the end of the week when we hold a Kangaroo Court and send the counselors found guiltiest of pulling the prankiest of pranks through the patented Chaos Machine. No one can ever tell exactly what Chaos Week will bring...but it’s a safe bet that some of the staff will end up covered in ice cream.
Session 4: Epic Tales of Mythic Legends
We love storytelling here at 4-H Camp, and we’re bringing all the stories we can find and then some to Epic Tales of Mythic Legends week! Knights, castles, dragons, royal courts and all the medieval drama that comes with ‘em? Sure thing! Wizards, unicorns, and other mystical fairy tale creatures galore? You know it! Woodland lore, forest folktales, lake adventures, raccoon raconteurs? Why in the world not!? 4-H Camp runs wild on wild imagination, and we sure won’t be lacking any of it during Session #4, because this week will once again be...EPIC. And mythic. And legendary. And you get the idea.
BIG Session 5: S'moregasbord
This August, we are offering our 4th annual BIG SESSION. Designed for returning campers who have already loved their time at 4-H Camp in the past (or new campers who are confident that 4-H Camp is the place for them to spend most of a month), simply put, it’s a lot MORE CAMP. If the one-week sessions are a go-go-go “event”, then the Big Session is all about the “camp lifestyle” where campers get the opportunity to just enjoy residing at 4-H Camp for an extended period of time. Featuring all the themes and activities from earlier in the summer, our BIG classes, and a ton of activities exclusive to our Big Session, we build a special kind of community during S’moregasbord that can only be accomplished in 18 straight days at 4-H Camp.
