Congratulations all around, we've done it: we've made it to 2016!
To celebrate, we're going to go into some detail on some brand-new classes we're offering this summer.
Each year we inject some excitement into the summer season with some new course offerings, and 2016 is no different. Some of these classes are building on programs we have had in the past, others are brand-new additions to Camp, but they all aim to bring something new to L.G. Cook in 2016 that wasn't here last season.
Trail Guide is our new "intro to everything E.E." class.
Our Environmental Education program is a pillar of all we do here at Camp, and one of the things that defines L.G. Cook the most is the beautiful 108 acres of Stokes State Forest we sit on.
Trail Guide is designed to be the best way for our campers to get to know the wonderful forest around Camp, and to learn how to enjoy it best.
Trail Guide will feature some hiking...
With plenty of time to explore the many trails around Camp, including not just our Lake Hike and Nesbitt Trail...
But our newly re-found "Old Camp Trail" as well, where campers will get the chance to check out a great (and not often seen) piece of Camp.
Trail Guide will also include a crash course in fire building...
And even a taste of outdoor cooking throughout the week.
Trail Guide will be the perfect way for our campers to fall in love (or fall in love again) with spending some time traversing the great outdoors at Camp.
Stay tuned, as we keep celebrating the new year by rolling out our new classes...
