Summer Camp In Review and Fall Family Hike Day

And so, as our ol' camping songs says...

"And come September, I will remember our camping days and friendships true..."

Well.

It's September!

(Don't believe me? Look at the calendar. It's sad, but it's true.)

Yes, it's September, and remembering our camping days and friendships true is exactly what we're going to do.

(And not just because a song tells us to.)

On this very blog we're going to having a series of Summer Camp In Review posts featuring some forgotten photos from the season, some in-depth dives into classes and activities we just didn't have time for in the hustle and bustle of the summer season, and of course your pictures! Yes, as per tradition (and we love us some tradition) it is time for YOU to send me your favorite pictures of the summer season for blog posts all your very own. Shoot them my way!

But that's not all!

We're a tech free Camp! We're not going to make you only remember your camping days and friendships true by staring through a screen. It's even better if you come up to Camp, enjoy an autumn day with your family, and remember those camping days and friendships true live and in person.

So join us for our Fall Family Hike Day!

(It's actually Fall Family Hike Day, Evening, and Morning. But that's too long for an event title.)

Fall Family Hike Day at L.G. Cook 4-H Camp

Hosted in partnership with 4-H Fun and Fitness Days at our National Parks: 2016 marks the National Park Service’s 100th Anniversary. Come celebrate with 4‐H by CONNECTING WITH NATURE and ENJOYING A HEALTHY LIVING FAMILY DAY.

Our Fall Family Hike Day is both a great opportunity for some long-time Camp Families to spend some more quality time at 4-H Camp, and a perfect introduction for families who may be brand-new to L.G. Cook.

There will be a beginner hike on Camp, an intermediate hike through Stokes State Forest, and an advanced hike following the Appalachian Trail into Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area to Buttermilk Falls, the highest waterfall in New Jersey. There will also be some time to enjoy some fishing and canoeing in Camp's very own Lake Shawanni.

Registered participants can also enjoy a dinner on Camp Saturday evening, a campfire hosted by the L.G. Cook staff, and to stay the night in one of our rustic cabins. Sunday will also include breakfast, and some lovely morning time around the lake. Registration is available here. The fee is $25 per participant.

4-H Camp is lovely in the cool autumn weather, and we hope you'll join us in spending some time outdoors appreciating it!

Call us at the Camp Office (973-948-3550) with any questions. Even though it's only been a few weeks, it's never too early for a Summer Camp reunion.
