New Jersey 4-H Camp 75^th Anniversary Staff Reunion and Retreat

September 19^th-21^st, 2025 

at 

L.G. Cook 4-H Camp – Stokes State Forest

 

 

You only turn 75 once!

 

From July 2025-July 2026, The New Jersey 4-H Camp will be celebrating its 75^th Anniversary. 

 

The year will feature monthly events (held both on site and remotely) including a Staff Reunion Retreat in September of 2025.

 

This event, hosted at L.G. Cook 4-H Camp in coordination with the 4-H Campfire Council,  will be open to former NJ 4-H Camp summer staff from all eras (The days of 4-H County Camp, Beemerville 4-H Camp, 21^st century counselors - the works!) It is intended to be a weekend of reconnection, reminiscing, storytelling, and sharing what the many generations of 4-H Camp Staff all have in common - fond memories and continued care for our little summer home in the forest.

 

This will be an adults-only event (21+). We’ll have plenty of other options for family visits/open houses during the 75^th Anniversary season!

 

There will also be options for spending the whole retreat at 4-H Camp, full weekend attendance with attendee-arranged off-site accommodations, or single day attendance on Saturday, September 20^th.

Highlights of 4-H Camp at Rutgers Gardens - Part 1

 It's been TWO MONTHS since we launched our second summer of 4-H Camp at Rutgers Gardens

So to celebrate we will be sharing some highlights from the summer

Starting with the first half of our summer...

With our annual Kick-off Mini-Session

Our 3 Days of Flora Festival was jam packed

As we tried to fit in all the games...

nature exploration...

and expert activities

all around Rutgers Gardens...

Like at our student farm

and getting creative...

bonding with our cabins

and making new friends

Then after some closing ceremonies

we sadly had to say goodbye

to our first campers

of summer 2024

Then after a few short days...

we were able to greet a brand new group of campers

for our first ever Fantastic Fauna session

where we got to learn all about the animals and living creatures that live at Rutgers Gardens

From frogs

to bats

to whatever these creatures are

in between our expert activities we also had tons of time

to explore the Bamboo Forest

stop by Cook's Market

and play brand new games

like our epic battle of Predator Versus Prey

    

while we bonded with our cabins

and enjoyed our week

together at 4-H Camp at Rutgers Gardens
